Toy Fair will move back to Olympia next year, and switch to three days, BTHA chairman Roger Dyson has announced at the Toy Awards Dinner.

Concerns about big name exhibitors staying away this year prompted the BTHA to consider a change of venue, and contracts have recently been signed to hold the next Toy Fair at Olympia from Tuesday 26th January to Thursday 28th January 2010. The new contract also covers 2011 and 2012.

Dyson noted that key buyers had expressed concern about the high number of major suppliers not exhibiting this year, and Dyson noted that these are the people which the event needs to attract. He stressed the importance of the show, to both the industry, and the BTHA's own members.

The BTHA has been very happy with ExCeL, but the event has a history of moving and evolving, and the news is expected to be widely welcomed in the trade. Another positive is that a Tuesday to Thursday show will not clash with the Spring Fair.
